The fan Lutf Amim Sahibli, who was demanding an extension in tenure of former Army Chief of Pakistan General Raheel Sharif, committed suicide yesterday. His son claimed this to the media. Before his death, he wrote a suicide letter over the Raheel Sharif retirement. From all his deeds, we can say that he was purely a General Raheel Sharif’s fan.
The General Raheel Sharif’s fan was 64, who served as chairman of the Progressive Workers Union at the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) once. He was famous for the ‘Don’t go Raheel Sharif’ campaign and started his official protest on November 1 with the threat that he would commit suicide if General Raheel will leave his services.
Suicide Letter By General Raheel Sharif’s Fan
This man took his life by consuming poison. He set up banners and posters, where the statement was written, “Raheel Sharif is a messiah. I am his fan. Only he can save the country from terrorism and social ills.”
His sister-in-law Nooren told to the media according to The Express Tribune that, “He attempted suicide on Nov 27 after the ISPR [Inter-Services Public Relations] announced the retirement plan of Gen Raheel. We took him to Jinnah hospital from where he was referred to Aga Khan University Hospital. He was initially on ventilator, but later died,”
“Before consuming poison, he wrote a letter to his wife, saying that his funeral prayers must be held in front of the KPC.”
Well, General Raheel Sharif’s fan Lutf was known to be the mentally unstable, who left behind his wife and 7 children. May his soul rest in peace!
