Quetta Attack: Pakistan Weeps Again On Militants Attack Police Training Centre

According to the officials, at least 60 policeman has been killed and 122 recruits injured in the Quetta attack. This terrorist attack on the Police Training Centre was started around 11pm last night, where three suicide bombers entered the site, according to the IG FC. They killed two guards at the gate and then moved towards the hostel where around 700 cadets were sleeping.

Peer Jan Naeem, 23, said that he and his class fellows were left at the mercy of Allah.

“They were carrying Kalashnikovs and firing blindly and throwing hand grenades,” he said. “No one was there to help us so we fell to the ground and hid beneath our beds.” One of the militants shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is great) before detonating his suicide vest, he said. Most of the deaths were caused due to the two of terrorists because the third one was shot dead before he could blow himself up. Where many killed, others were rescued and injured by jumping out of the windows.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi

Inspector General FC stated to the media that the attack was carried out by Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, where the attackers were in contact with the coaches in Afghanistan. Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, the Chief Minister of Balochistan said that terrorists attacked the Police Centre, which is at the edge of Quetta, after failing to attack the capital due to high security alert. The security was high due to the threats, few days back.

Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is known for the targeting Shiites in Suni-majority Pakistan. There were a series of attacks and bombings in early years. It was resulted in the death of many people in Balochistan province. Last year, the head of this group, Malik Ishaq was killed during the shootout between armed men and police. This happened when the police was transporting him in the prison in the Punjab province. This group also claimed responsibilities of many attacks in previous years.

The Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the Quetta attack on the Police Training Center. “No one will be allowed to disturb peace in the province that has been restored due to the countless sacrifices of security forces, police and the people of Balochistan.” Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said on this incidence.
