Dozens of people died in result of suicide attack at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine on Thursday. The blast occurred inside the compound where people perform Dhamaal. There were many devotees present, including men, women and children at the time of suicide attack in the shrine of Sufi saint.
According to the reports, at least 30 people killed and it leads to many injured in critical condition in suicide attack at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar Shrine. The Assistant Superintendent of Police in Sehwan said that suicide bomber entered through the golden gate of shrine. He blew himself up and explosion took place within the premises shrine.
Sikandar Mandhro, health minister of Sindh said, “There was a huge crowd gathered there for the [religious gathering] at the shrine, and there was a very big explosion.”
“The medical facilities at Sehwan are not equipped to deal with a very big emergency, so our first priority right now is to get help to the wounded.”
Our Prime Minister said, “The attack on the shrines of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar represents an attack on the progressive, inclusive future of Pakistan; one where every man women and child is entitled to life, liberty and property in the pursuit of happiness no matter their religion. An attack on one of us, is an attack on all. The Sufi people predate Pakistan, and formed an important part in the struggle for its formation.
“Any attack on them, is a direct threat to the Pakistan of Jinnah and will be dealt as such. The past few days have been hard, and my heart is with the victims. But we can’t let these events divide us, or scare us. We must stand united in this struggle for the Pakistani identity, and universal humanity.”
On Sunday, Lahore faced bomb blast at Mall Road, 14 people died and 60 other people wounded. On Wednesday, a suicide attacker targeted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and seven people died. Moreover, one more incident occurred in Peshawar, where suicide bombers blew themselves up at different locations in Mohmand Agency.
